Pavilion Barcelona

Barcelona Pavilion is considered an icon of the 20th century modernist architecture. It was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe as the German Pavilion for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona.

Mies united sophisticated materials with a fluid open plan which together endowed the space with an unprecedented modern elegance. The architecture’s mass is balanced by a pond (featuring a sculpture by Georg Kolb) and a shallow pool on either end.
